Wagonaire Service Letter: Water Leak Correction

Studebaker quickly realized that they had a problem with the sliding roof seals designed to keep the water out of the interior. On December 4th 1962 they issued a 6 page Service Letter regarding the introduction of newly designed weatherseals. This letter assured dealers that with the new seals installed, and a properly adjusted linkage of the sliding roof panel, the Wagonaire could be made water tight. Unfortunately, the public was slow to be convinced and sales of the Wagonaire failed to live up to expectations.
